School Direct Initial Teacher Training
School Direct is an employment based training route for individuals wishing to gain Qualified Teacher Status and a PGCE whilst working in a high performing school supported by experienced teachers, within a network of local training schools.
The Lambeth Teaching Schools Alliance offers both salaried and non-salaried School Direct programmes at primary and secondary level, we work with over 15 schools each year to provide up to 30 places for high quality ambitious trainees looking to start their teaching careers within our diverse dynamic central London borough. Our programmes are accredited by our partners Roehampton and Kingston Universities and our trainees have access to their world class training and facilities.
We have been running School Direct programmes for several years, and offer excellent access to employment opportunities once qualified through our network of local schools. Over 90% the trainees in our 2018-19 cohort have gone on to secure NQT positions in Lambeth.
